About us
In the early 2000s we introduced one of the first affordable off-the-shelf bifocal safety glasses in the UK.
Until then, professionals who needed reading safety glasses had only one option — expensive bespoke pairs from opticians costing £100–£250. But safety glasses are tools used in demanding environments where they inevitably get scratched or damaged, so spending that much simply didn’t make sense.
We launched our range at major trade exhibitions including Interbuild, Woodmex and Electrex, as well as specialist consumer shows such as Model Engineering and Woodworking events — and the response was immediate.
For the first time, professionals could buy ready-to-use reading or bifocal safety glasses for around £10. If they became damaged on the job, they had done exactly what they were designed to do — protect your eyes — and could be easily replaced.
Today voltX safety glasses are used across engineering, manufacturing, construction and workshops, and are also popular with cyclists, bikers and outdoor enthusiasts who need clear vision and reliable eye protection.
